FuC Topper: Dine on Ashes - On Being Sane In Insane Places

When Wim Dielen and Katharine De Groote met in 2006, they combined their mutual interests to eventually give birth to a new project in 2009 named Dine on Ashes. This refers to an English idiom meaning "to excessively focus attention on failures or regrets for past actions". However, dark as this may seem, Wim and Katharine merely wish to focus attention on what makes us human.

Wim Dielen already had a vast amount of experience due to his previous life as co-founder of the 90's band Transparent Curse, a life that was also shared with Dominique Audenaert and Tom Buytaert. Katharine De Groote was still a teenager and had no professional experience upon being chosen to be singer of the previous project. She combines her Scandinavian roots with her career path to become a psychologist to influence her lyrics. A long struggle and five years later, Dine on Ashes released their debut album "On Being Sane in Insane Places" in 2011.

Dominique and Tom rejoined Wim in that same year to help partake in live shows and became permanent members of the band. In search of a drummer, Frank Vandenberghe popped out in both performance and personality and gained his place in the Dine on Ashes concept as well.

FuC Topper: The Zoomatics - Where's The Sun Hangin' Out?

The Zoomatics cover the largest possible range of styles, whilst giving their Blues a contemporary touch, but always “keepin’ it real” and staying true to the original idiom that made this great music so popular.

12 straight to the point original compositions, tons of humor, an “in your face” mentality and a no-nonsense approach, exactly this is what The Zoomatics showcase on this debut album: “Where’s The Sun Hangin’ Out?”.

"With more than 100 years of experience under their belt between the four of them, Al C., Hoboken Slim, King D. and Zoomatic Jerry know exactly how things work.
Al’s sometimes raw, sometimes subtle guitar playing, Slim’s smoke-and-coffee infused voice and down to earth harmonica, carried by D. and Jerry’s rock solid rhythm, make for pure chemistry on stage.
And, last but not least... The Zoomatics are one of the best dressed bands this side of the globe. As Rick Estrin said once: “people don’t go out to see people who look like themselves. They want to see something special..."
